FAQ

What is website hosting & why do I need it?

A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows websites to be accessible via the internet.

The easiest way to imagine it is as a storage drive that your website is saved on, that everybody can access online.

When we build a website, we need to point your domain (website address) to the location where your website will be stored.

We offer 1 Year of complimentary website hosting with Zen & Azucar in all of our website prices.

Our hosting servers are based in Australia and offer fast page load times & a high level of security.

We will advise of the recurring cost for the following year during the time of consultation.

What is a domain name & how do I get one?

Your domain name is a key part of your online address, and is what your visitors will use to find you easily.
For example, our domain name is zenandazucar.com.au

Your domain name is unique to you; once you have registered it, nobody else can register the same one for as long as you continue to renew it.

If you purchase your domain through Zen & Azucar, we will ensure you’re kept up to date with when your renewals are due and give you plenty of warning.

Renewal prices for your domain name vary, they range from $15-$50 a year depending on the popularity of that particular term or phrase.

We will always advise you of the recurring costs for the following year at the time of consult/quotation.

Why would I pick woocommerce over Shopify?

Many small businesses test the water by loading their products up on to services like Ebay, Etsy and through subscription store services like Shopify.

Shopify and Etsy quickly become uneconomical when you begin to calculate and add all the fees associated with using a 3rd party website. These services often charge you a fee per product listing and some will cap you at a quantity of listings.

In addition to the subscription costs and fees, if you happen to be using paypal as your payment gateway,  generally you lose another percentage of your income to payment fees.

This usually doesn’t leave an ideal profit margin for the business owner but unfortunately it is often overlooked but every micro fee transaction adds up over the year.

The reality of it is, people usually rise their prices to accommodate for the excessive platform fees – which in turn makes your pricing less desirable and your products less competitive.
